At the 2017 CES in Las Vegas last month, Hyundai unveiled a self-driving Ioniq concept vehicle that places the autonomous tech out of sight, relocating the lidar from the roof to behind the front bumper cover. The result looks more like a normal vehicle and less like come vision from the future.

Earlier this month, Hyundai Motor America revealed that they had earned a seventh straight year of record sales in the United States. The company sold 775,005 vehicles in 2016, a gain of 1.75 percent; for December, Hyundai sold 60,572 vehicles, a number not seen in more than a decade.
