If you have ever been shopping for new tires for your vehicle, then you know how confusing it can be. There is such a large selection of tires to choose from, and you do not know which one is best for you and your vehicle. I would like to provide a little clarity and discuss some of the biggest differences in some of the more common tire types available.
Winter tires - This one is pretty self-explanatory. Winter tires allow for better control and handling when driving in wintery conditions, such as snow and ice. Winter tires come in two types, studded and non-studded, studded winter tires allow you to drive better in heavy ice, but sacrifice quiet and comfort.
Summer tires - Designed to be driven in conditions that are either wet or dry. They are not intended to be driven in all weather.
All-season tires - These tires are designed to be driven in. all seasons and do not to be changed from winter to summer.
